Health Information Week 3rd – 9th July #HIW2017

During Health Information Week, events are taking place across the country to encourage patients and the public to find and use good quality health information.  The NHS East Dorset Library and Knowledge Services Team have got involved in several ways.

We have held a team training event to consider how we can signpost good quality health information to members of the public.  We have produced some publicity materials including a Guide to Finding Good Quality Health Information on the Internet and a Guide to Using NHS Choices which we have shared with our colleagues in public libraries across Dorset; Bournemouth and Poole College; local school libraries and the library at Bournemouth University as well as with the Patient Experience Teams at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

To spread the word more widely we are popping up at various locations throughout the week including the Atrium at Royal Bournemouth Hospital on Tuesday 4th July, The Dome at Poole Hospital on the 5th July and the Outpatient Waiting area at Christchurch Hospital on the 5th July.  If you would like us to visit your department please get in touch.
