“Creating health by doing more good than harm” extends to environmental concerns

The 19th Whitney Memorial Lecture at Poole Hospital, on the 18th November, delivered by Dr David Pencheon, OBE, sparked a great deal of deep thought and debate.  Historically health professionals have influenced political and social policy – consider the abolition of slavery and the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) – and are required to now extend their influence to the massive issue of climate change.

For those that want to find out more,  please see this list of references that David referred to throughout his lecture.

Please contact the library@poole.nhs.uk to see the full text of the references listed; request a literature search to review the latest evidence on a topic; or to request a regular current awareness bulletin on your chosen subject.
