Nutrition & Hydration Week

Today marks the start of International Nutrition and Hydration Week supported by  NHS England to raise awareness of the importance of good nutrition and hydration in all health and social care settings.  Both Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital have events planned throughout the week but keep an eye on what is happening further afield by following Twitter hashtag #NHW2014.

As part of the week a new Nutrition Game has been launched to help with the detection and management of dysphagia for frontline healthcare staff.  It is also possible to register for a series of webinars related to nutrition and hydration covering topics such as safe placement of nasogastric tubes, keeping kidneys healthy, understanding the Dementia Mealtime Assessment Tool, HealthCall – Digitial futures.

Don’t forget the library service has access to a wide range of books and journal articles about nutrition and hydration.  We are also happy to set-up regular alerts to identify new research – please ask library staff for details.
