Open Day 25th September 2013

The Open Day for the Learning Resource Centre was held yesterday and showcased not only Library services but those of our partners and suppliers.

In attendance were ClinicalKey, UpToDate, Bournemouth University, the hospital’s Flu Awareness Team, Trust executives and specially invited guests, including relations of Lloyd Adams, previous Chief Executive of Poole Hospital and in whose memory the building is named.  Also in attendance were a small contingent from Dorset County Hospital NHS Library, Angela Shaw and Morag Evans, who were keen to see first hand the improvements made to service in the new Library space.

Library staff provided mini training sessions on Library resources whilst suppliers were on hand to discuss products and offer one to one training for those in attendance, whilst some enjoyed more relaxing pursuits by taking advantage of the Indian Head Massage service provided by Victoria Tucker who works as an aromatherapist at Gala Lodge.

The ribbon cutting took place just after 1pm with Mrs Adams , Robert Talbot, Medical Director at Poole Hospital and John Vinney, Vice Chancellor of Bournemouth University doing the honours. Afterwards a decadent lunch was had by all at the Education Centre.
