Calling all NHS Athens account users.

There have been some issues with timing out or systems hanging, when searching the NHS Evidence databases with Internet Explorer. While the situation has improved recently, there are still some users having problems. One solution is to try changing your browser to Google Chrome or another browser.

Failing this, the databases can also be accessed without using the ‘front end’. From the ‘Your Account’ page, select the option ‘visit your MyAthens page’ at the bottom of the page. On the next page select the Resources tab and then Local Resources and this provide a list of what it available to you via your Athens login.

To access AMED, Embase, HMIC, Medline, and PsycINFO select the link to Ovid Online. For Health Business Elite and CINAHL select EbscoHost.

While on the Resources page, check out some of the other sources of information available to you.
