The Cavendish Review: an independent review into healthcare assistants and support workers in the NHS and social care settings

Earlier this year, Camilla Cavendish, an editor and journalist with the Times newspaper, was asked to review roles, competence and training of healthcare assistants working in the NHS and in social care. A particular focus was improving care in both areas and learning from current good practice, using focus groups of frontline staff and consulting employing organisations.

Her report and recommendations, just published, make up a 92-page document but the executive summary discussing her recommendations is only 3 pages long. You can read it here.
