The Health and Social Care Act: the tale in a timeline

The King’s Fund and the Institute for Government have published an interactive timeline which is a visual guide through the events that led to the Health and Social Care Act 2012 coming into force on 1 April 2013.

Kings Fund Prezi

Called ‘The Health and Social Care Act: the tale in a timeline’ , it runs through the all main milestones of the major elements of the Act. The timeline sets current NHS reforms within a historical context – from the creation of the internal market in 1989, to the establishment of the first Foundation Trust in 2004, to the passing and implementation of the most recent controversial legislation.

It is done in Prezi and includes images, links, signposts to documents & video. It is an entertaining way to gain an overview of these important changes and can be supplemented by further information from the King’s Fund website on the new NHS .
