Cochrane – new search options

The Cochrane Library has recently introduced improvements to the search interface  so if you use Cochrane you will see major changes to the layout of search pages along with the following enhancements and new features:  
– Auto-suggest features within both basic and MeSH search functions
– Updated display of search results and filtering options 
– Ability to view search terms and results on the same page
– Ability to insert lines and add one search to one another
– Improved MeSH look-up feature
– Hover-over Tool Tips giving a brief explanation of the functions

Search option – when you enter your search and click go you will see options to limit, or to add another line (or lines) if you want to add another term to your search.

Search Manager  is a new option to develop complex searches.

Over the next few months, further developments are being introduced so you can expect to see the following

  • Printer friendly version of search with counts
  • Shorthand notation for combining searches
  • “Did you mean”
  • Share a Search
  • Direct keying of Mesh Searches
  • Alerting for Search Strategies
