Time to intervene?


“Time to intervene? A review of patients who underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a result of an in-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest”  NCEPOD. 2012.

The latest report from the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death examines factors in the process of care of adult patients in hospital who receive resuscitation in hospital. Staff from Poole Hospital contributed to the study which discusses the factors which may affect the decision to initiate the resuscitation attempt, the outcome and the quality of care following the resuscitation attempt. Opportunities for intervention to prevent cardiac arrest are also considered.
