Website of the Month (January) NEJM is 200 years old!

The New England Journal of Medicine is celebrating 200 years of publication!

Since 1812 over 150,000 articles have been published highlighting major developments in medicine. To mark the event a special website offers a historical timeline where you can read about Spanish Flu, the “magic bullet”, the early discussions on DNR and the first kidney transplant.  A series of articles about the progress in medicine has been commissioned – this month there is an overview on the advances in the treatment of angina pectoris.

You can vote on what you consider to be the most important article, take part in a historical image challenge or post a comment!

There is access to the archive of articles (via NHS ATHENS – excludes most recent 3 months ) or print copies are available in the library.
