National Year of Speech & Language Communication

2011 is the national year of speech and language communication and a new campaign aims to raise awareness amongst all staff who work with children.

The Hello Campaign by the Communication Trust is well worth a look.
An article about the campaign appears in Community Practitioner 2011 84 (3) p40-1

  1. Look out for the Speech and Language Therapy’s ‘Giving Voice’ stand in the canteen between 11.30am and 2.30pm today! Come along to see our ‘speech bubbles’, leave your thoughts or comments in your own speech bubble, pick up a pen, some lips and teeth sweets and enter our wordsearch competition to win The Kings Speech on DVD!

  2. I’m pleased to announce that the adult Speech and Language Therapy team here at Poole is involved with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists’ current campaign called ‘Giving Voice’ (the adult’s version of the children’s campaign ‘Hello’).
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of communication and swallowing difficulties in adults. To find out more, visit http://www.givingvoiceuk.org

Look out for our stands around the hospital later this year
