Website of the Month – 43 Things

If you are like me you don’t believe in making New Year’s Resolutions but I sometimes get to this stage of the year – 1 month in – and decide that a bit of goal setting might be useful. 43 things is a fun way to list and chart progress by simply answering the question: What do you want to do with your life?

You need to register with the site to start listing your goals and then you can report regularly on how you are doing.  It is also possible to see who else is working on the same thing and how they managed to achieve something.  As a true social media tool there is also lots of opportunity for encouragement and support should you so desire.

Great fun but what about for work?

Impressed by the work  of Helen Blowers who used 43 things to direct a group learning experience called The Learning 2.0 Project I have used 43 things as a personal training aide memoire to identify things I want to know more about and chart my progress.  You can view my list here.

For more information about how you can use 43 Things see what Stephen Abram  has to say 43 Things I (or You) might want to do this year (Information Outlook – Feb 2006)
